More about this collection

Suede shoes for men and women

Suede is leather buffed on the flesh side to raise a soft nap. It is lighter and more relaxed than polished calf, and it takes colour well. That is why this collection runs from navy and grey to royal blue, burgundy, pink and mushroom.

What is in the range

  • Men's driving loafers: the Orca Bay Roma 2 and Silverstone in navy and royal blue suede.
  • Men's snaffle loafers: the Orca Bay Cambridge in grey suede.
  • Ladies' tassel loafers: the Orca Bay Sicily in navy, royal blue and grey, and the Salcombe driving loafer in burgundy and red.
  • Ladies' summer loafers: the Orca Bay Florence in mushroom, navy and pink.
  • Sanders: the Aldwych penny loafer in Polo Snuff suede, handcrafted in England.
  • Slippers: the Orca Bay Mohawk II in brown suede with real sheep fleece lining.

Looking after suede

Suede does not want polish. Brush it when dry to lift the nap and take off dust, and use a protector spray before the first wear to help it shrug off rain and marks. Cedar shoe trees after wear keep the shape and help the lining dry out. Our suede care guide and the suede cleaning article cover marks and stains step by step.

Suede shoes FAQ

Can suede shoes get wet?

They can cope with a shower, especially once treated with a protector. Let them dry naturally away from direct heat, then brush the nap back up.

Is suede formal or casual?

Mostly smart casual. A suede loafer sits well with chinos, linen and tailoring without a tie. For formal wear, polished leather is the safer choice.

What brush do I need?

A suede brush or crepe brush, not a bristle polishing brush. See our brushes and cloths.
