The sole and heel are moulded in non-slip, non-marking rubber, broken into small segmented pods rather than a flat slab, so the sole flexes with your foot and grips the pedal rather than sliding across it. The upper is hand-stitched in a traditional apron-front moccasin pattern with a leather lace trim across the vamp, fully lined in leather with a full leather footbed underneath, so there's no synthetic lining working against the suede as it breathes and softens.

A Note on Sizing

If your usual size is a trainer size, expect the Silverstone to feel different rather than wrong. A trainer last is built around a rounded, generous toe box; this driving last is slimmer and more elongated, with the pivot point of the heel exaggerating the apparent length at the toe. They sit snug rather than tight on first wear and loosen up as the suede settles to your foot over the first few outings. Half sizes go up.

Wearing It In
